Default OEM mudflap mounting

Recently purchased some used mudflaps for my 04 DII. I suspect it came with them when it was new but they were gone when I bought it and I’ve always liked the look of them. However, I can’t seem to figure out how the front pair mount. There are zero holes that line up anywhere. Same issue with the smaller rear one that mounts in front of the rear tire. Am I missing a bracket or something else? Pictures of how they mount would be very helpful. The rear most one seems fairly easy and already has holes.

The rear flaps in front of the rear tire mount to the body mount. There is a metal bar with two studs that hold it on. See pic below it was taken with the rear passenger tire removed just next to where the radius connects.
The front flap mounts to a metal plate just like the rear most flap. If your truck didn’t have front mud flaps that plate might not be there.

Definitely don’t have a metal plate in the front. I’ll see if I can source one from a part out or something. How is this plate connected to the body?
