Default OME Suspension Options

Well, its probably about time that I replace my suspension and shocks, and I've been interested for awhile in getting a lift on the Disco, and so I was doing research and came across the popular OME 2" Suspension Kit (I've read it provides about 1.5-2" of lift), so it seems this combines the best of both worlds. My only question is whether I should go with medium or HD? Eventually I would like to have a winch on the Disco, and I know that as I keep adding weight I'll need more tension to keep the sag up, but before I do any of that, would HD be overkill? My Disco isn't going extreme rock crawling and is a hybrid commute/ have fun outdoors truck at the moment. Eventually I would like to make the Disco into an off-road only truck, but that won't be any time soon, but I'm also not trying to spend $700 now, and then replace a bunch of stuff later because its not strong enough.

Any recommendations? Has anyone taken a mostly stock Disco II and used OME HD suspension and noticed if it was a really rough ride before they loaded things like a winch on?

Thanks,
Phillip

Go HD. You'll regret medium.

Awesome, thanks for the tip. I'll update the thread as soon as I pull the trigger on something, but I'll likely go HD.

In other words, go to the 779 front coils and the 762 rears along with the new OME Sport shocks and their steering stabilizer.
It will take about a month of driving for the coils to adjust in, but you will get 2"s from it along with a great ride and then later if you want to go to a winch/bumper you can still do it without changing the front coils again.
Check out the prices from Lucky 8, they have one of the best over all prices for the package.

Thanks for the advice Mike. One point of clarification: I assume you mean the 781 rear coils as the 761 is a Defender/ Disco I front coil? I just wanted to double check on that.

762 is the HD rear, right?

Yeah, 781 is medium, but Mike referenced a medium D1 coil, so I figured he meant the medium DII coil? I guess thats my question.

Thanks for catching that, I meant 762 rear coils, medium duties in the rear with 779's in the front will sit low.
