Default OFF ROAD?

I am new to Rovers I just bought a 04 Discovery and was wondering if anyone can guide me in a good direction for suspension and other modifications that I should make to the truck for a pretty serious off road trip. I have been given mixed info on the abalities of these trucks. Thanks

I'm new to rovers myself but I can tell you what Jeep guys would say if you ask this question in a jeep forum. Take it off-road as it is..see what it can do before you start moding it. The '04 has the CDL so you should do pretty good off-road. Also, what do you consider a serious off-road trip?..forest service roads or lions back at moab?

Headed to some very remote lakes in Colorado with 3-4 foot rock steps and high creek crossings.

In my opinion, since the 04' is set up with CDL, the only thing I would change is tires. Go take a look at some nice All terrians (BFG, General Grabbers, Toyo, ect). These trucks are amazing, I went this weekend and had a blast, and did just as good or better than a Jeep GC with a lift. Good luck!

Now that you mention the rock climbing, you may want to look into a lift (still not totally necessary), but i'll let the other guys take a jab at that part of it.

You dont need a lift if you drive smart and use sand ladders.

IMO 3-4' rock steps will require 33" tires and a rear locker...some skid protection would be a good idea too.
