Oil pressure sensor sandwich adapter, no oil pressure
Got a glowshift sandwich adapter and gauge awhile ago. Oil change time and just now installing it.
The sandwich adapter has two small ports, one I screwed the sensor sender into and the other I plugged. It also has two larger ports and came with connectors for that but I got plugs and blocked them. Everything is installed ok but getting no oil pressure. I'm thinking I got the wrong adapter? I got the part number from a thread here somewhere. Does oil have to flow through the two bigger ports for this adapter to work properly? If so can I just run a hose to connect them for now? Thanks all. |
Answered my own question. Wrong adapter if you just want a sensor installed.
The one I got was for an oil cooler and sensor install. The two larger ports must flow oil. Now, to exchange for the correct sandwich adapter or install an oil cooler ;-) |
What part number did you buy? The plate can be a GS-AF2 with 3 ports and you just block the ports you aren't using. At least that's what I did last time I installed one of these.

I have a 2000 with the engine oil cooler so I bought the tee fitting to go between the factory sender/timing cover. Should get it Tue/Wed, bought it on ebay $13. I thought 04's you could just remove a plug on the timing cover and use that port.

If there's a port on the timing cover for a sender I'd love to use that.
I'll look and search the forum; if anyone has a picture or two of an 04 with the 4.6 using an OE port on the front cover that would be helpful too. Thanks again all; as always appreciate the feedback. |
