Default Mercedes diesel OM617 into Disco 2

I just started removing the engine out of my woods truck. I will be swapping in a Merc-Benz OM617 Turbo Diesel 5 cylinder out of an 84 300TD wagon. This wont be one of the swap threads that dies and never gets finished, it is happening right now. My plan is to run the mercedes trans and the land rover transfer box. The motor I am taking out needs a set of head gaskets but otherwise runs quiet and had no codes. The trans was also working fine and shifted smooth. They are both for sale and have 110k on them.

Update: 9 PM, motor is in sitting on 2 temporary brackets so I can mock everything together. I have at least 5 inches to play with between T-box and rear of trans.

So, would i be right to assume this is gonna be a trailer queen or do you have your "methods" of getting an inspection sticker on that...

Probably going to register heavy duty. Hd+diesel = no inspection
