Wow... there is nothing on autotrader.
Looks like I'll be crawling under the freaking GMC tomorrow. My wife will be starting college on Monday... gunna give her the Landy.
When I brought the GMC home, it had no breaks, and when I looked, the fluid thing was dry... also has no tail light or blinkers. I hope tomorrow is a warm day. My garage isn't heated.

Well, it's not so much that... I can forgive that.
1) It didn't have the cold weather package. I could forgive this... for a flawless Disco.
2) It freaking "clunked" into reverse. That was the deal breaker.
3) The thing hadn't been garaged in Florida and you could tell. My 2000 has spent just a few night outdoors (so the last owner told the dealer), and the leather is soft and fresh, the colors vibrant, the dash like new... It's nine years old with 50k miles. I suppose a 2004 with 50k miles would be like a '00 with 100k miles- and I know what most of them look like.
So, I need to go for <30k miles.
Problem being, I'm looking at about 18 grand minimum for something like this. I'm not sure if I'm ready to do that, and I am not sure if I am ready to buy ANYTHING that is less than that. I'd feel like I was wasting my time... having a girl friend for the sake of having a girlfriend, when what I really want is a wife. You see what I mean?
Maybe I should just go for it... The problem with that is, if I drop 18Gs on a Disco, I may ACTUALLY lose my wife.

you can add the switches and switch plate for heated seats yourself, will only cost you $40 (I know that is not the only thing that comes with the cold weather package but it is a big one)
I think a lot of rovers clunk into reverse when parked on a hill, If it did it on flat ground yeah I might be suspicious.
If it was near the ocean and not garage I would probably have a problem with that too..good chance there is some rust somewhere hidden....bottom line, you are the one paying for it..you have to be happy with it..I hope ya find a good one.

Thanks NightTrane.
(Get it? Because I swapped the ... yeah..)
It was pretty close to the coast... but the frame did look beautiful. We don't get that here in Michigan. Even 2-3 year old vehicles have rust on them somewhere.
But yeah... it definitely clunked in on flat ground. I got under the vehicle (made sure to be safe) and had my wife do it, and it looked like the 1-inch of play that resulted in the "clunk" occurred in the tranny somewhere, but maybe it was the front driveshaft.
