Default Over sensitive steering

I've just test drivin a 2000 discovery and at one point durin the test drive i had to steer inwards to stop veering on to the other side of the road(my fault for drifting to far on to the other side of the road)the steering appeared to be very sensitive so i had to correct it back again, before i knew it i almost lost control, steering one way and the next in quick succession...frightning.I've driven a few discovery's and never noticed this,so is the steering that sensitive or could this disco have a problem? The seller said hehad replaced the steering linkage recently so.....

I doubt he replaced what was needed. No this is not common and should be repaired by the dealer prior to your considering buying it. You could mostlikey have a failing steering gear box.
Be careful,
Mike
