Default P0126

Hey guys my SES light came on and had code pulled @ advanceauto. Came back with P0126, coolant temp insufficient stable operation.
Background - Temp gage needle remains @ midrange, no leaks, new tstat installed Mar2010 when I switched to green coolant. No known history with leaks or overheating.
Could my tstat be bad or somekind of sensor. Not my DD, but is it safe to drive until problem corrected. Thanks...

Pulled this from another thread...looks like you need a new thermostat.

" P0126
Engine thermostat defective
Difference in radiator and engine coolant temperatures too small "
