Got these codes saturday when I was out of town. I just happened to have my reader with me, and erased the codes. They came on again yesterday.

I've searched and found a post earlier this year leaning towards o2 sensors, plugs/wires, and MAF.

The MAF and plugs/wires, have been changed within two years(20000 mi). I always run 93, and have a fram air filter from autozone.

If the o2 sensors need replacing, isthere any problem going with aftermarket? ( i'm broke).I'ma marine electrical tech, sothe connectionswill never be a problem, just wondering about the actual sensors.

As long as they are for your LR you will be fine.
What O2's are you looking to get?

I really dont think you will beat this price, but I might be wrong. $60.

I wouldn't suggest you go ultra cheap on th 02's, 4 at $65 is not that bad, sepecially if when done you find that they also cleared the lean code.

Any problem doing the front two, then the rear, (or the driver's side then the pass)? Money's gonna be tight around my house for a while, had to take a50% pay cut.

The front two are the ones that take the most beating, since they are before the cat. In fact, I believe the front ones are usually the first to expire on any car. I'd just go with those first and see what happens.

The rear O2 sensors are there to determine if the catalytic converter is working or not. The front O2 sensors are used in the closed loop fueling process (versus open loop operation).

As well as to verify if the front 02 have reset the air fuel so the cats can burn it to factory specs, if the rear 02's are current they won't give you the best air/fuel setting.
I would alway suggest you replace all four especialy at your mileage.

Replace the front two and then the back two when you have the money.
It is best to replace them all at once, however I understand that you cant.
So just do the fronts for now.

Definitely check for vacuum leaks as well, smoke test if possible. I had one with the same codes repeating, ended up finding a leaking throttle shaft(wasn't detectable through artificial enrichment using throttle body cleaner, barely found by smoke testing).

How did you fix this leak, can you replace the throttle shaft bushings or did you just replace the whole throttle body? I have lean codes, did a 'homemade' smoke-test and I sawa very small puff of smoke come from the throttle body shaft.
