Default P0420 & P0153 after installing new Bosch o2 sensors

I'm discovering, fix one, find another like .I'll admit, I ran it to long with bad O2's. They were bad when I got it but the previous owner blocked the CEL so I couldn't see the light .

Anyway, I replaced sensors, got random codes, cleared them .Then about 100 miles in, these 2 codes have come up. If I have a bad CAT would that cause the slow response from the O2? Open for ANY and ALL suggestions, ideas and advice!

Thanks in advance!

0420 cat compromised, install an o2 extender youll be fine. It could eliminate your o2 code too.

All it is is a bung extention. The sensor doesn’t sit as far into the exhaust stream. They aren’t LR specific so you find them on eBay etc.

That I am not sure of

In my Audi days, I think the bungs were less than an inch? Worked some of the time when peeps were running test pipes aka no cat but I never bothered with all that.

I may be crazy here but if your cat is FUBAR just replace it. 100 bucks on eBay. I had a new magnaflow system put on my daughters truck 2 years ago. The passenger side cat busted some internals loose a month ago. Just replaced it .cheap as hell. I gotta talk to her about the size of boulders she is allowed to go over.

And that's exactly what I'm trying to figure out. Is the cat FUBAR? is that what is causing the codes or is it something else?

And yeah, you may need to have a bit of a chat with her lol .I'm in southeast Missouri and we have rocks here a d I've never came close to busting anything on one .lok

Bang your muffler if you hear anything rattling around inside it “could” be the internal parts of your cats have blown out.
