Default P1412 and P1415

I just serviced my SAI pump as the rubber bushions had separated. Put new ones on and reattached the connectors & lines. Now getting the P1412 and P1415 codes (SES).

So...did I potentially bugger up one of the hoses while disconnecting things? too co-incidental that this light came on JUST after doing this service.

The canister that attaches to the bracket with the 2 small rubber hoses on each end....what does that do in the SAI process?

btw, I reset the code using my diagnostic tool/ultra-guage.

double and triple check all your connections, vacuum and electrical.

check the where the hoses connect to be sure there are no cracks that open when you slide the hoses in place.

and then wait to see if the codes come back.

check this thread, as well.

what I did notice on the hose with the round ring at the end that connects to the SAI pump, was that there was an elbow around 1 ft from the connection to the pump which had silver heat shield material around it presumably to protect the hose from the manifold heat. That elbow was pretty wonky. I'll peel back the shield and inspect that to make sure it's not leaking there.

having the crank pulley replaced this morning...so the rig's at the shop.

got the truck back from shop. light remained off...mind you it's only a 1/2 mile from there to home. crank pulley rubber separated, missing chunks. pulley for P/S on backwards. boy there are some real aces out there working on these rigs. new belt on. hopefully no more noisy operation from them.

drove the truck probably 50 miles today. no SES light. wondering if my taking it apart and unplugging the connectors triggered the light coming on. hopefully...

I get a 1412 code pretty intermittently,I have taken to ignoring it. I have smoke tested it, no leakes, checked my connections, no luck. there is something about the silver cylinders with vacuum after the car is shut off that is supposed to be the culprite. It has not affected performance, so I have not spent much time on it, but now that i have run out of things to fix, maybe that is on the list.

well, it came back on. after 2nd trip out. so...anyone have a good used hose that goes from the SAI pump to the connection to the exhaust tube they want to exchange for a brand new 185 deg thermostat? I have a set of the hurricane wheels (5) with falken tires on them which I'll swap for a new/near new hose. You pay the shipping. either one.

Just got back from autozone to see if they had any hose similar in size to that hose going from the SAI pump. nada. I removed the silver backing heat crap. There were no visible cracks or breaks in it. so...is there any special test I can do here on it to make sure this hose is the culprit before spending 185.00 on a new one only to find that is not the issue?

The canister that mounts to the bracket for the SAI pump has 2 hoses at either end (small rubber ones). One end is an elbow and the other is a straight push on style.

There were no visible cracks on either end of both hoses. If I had mounted that canister backwards, would the hoses going onto the wrong ends of that cause
these codes to be thrown?

One of the small hoses going from the vacuum reservoir canister plugs into the intake manifold just below the PCR connection. There is a larger rubber
fitting that the hose connects to and that fitting goes over the metal nipple end. It is quite loose. How tight should that hose fitting be over that metal nipple?

If the clip end that connects to the pump is still in good shape, you can replace the plastic line with 5/8" heater hose and clamp it to the connector. It doesn't look as nice but it beats buying a new plastic one.
