Well it seems to have taken longer and cost more than anticipated but the portable heater box is complete and it heated up my D2 for the first time last night!

The electronics in my build are slightly different than Keegan's as I wanted to protect my battery from being fully discharged. The small circuit board is a 20A low voltage protector which is connected to the SPST relay. The low voltage protector can be customized to cut power and restore power at set voltage points so you don't kill your battery. The relay is wired so it will cut power to the fuel pump and the heater will sense low/no fuel condition and then properly shutdown. If you pull power from these units while they are hot they can actually overheat and damage their own internal electronics.

nice use of a neutrik connector. I approve of the nice neat approach it allows. I may need to build one of these for use aboard my boat and on my Disco.
