Default Parts required to add CDL

Hi all,

I have a 1999 Discovery II SD and was wondering if the following is all I will need to convert it ot a functioning CDL:

LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 2 CENTER LOCKING DIFFERENTIAL CDL LINKAGE W. **** AND BOOT | eBay

Thanks,

$170 is a bit pricey in my book. You can always get one from a pick and pull. Although Marty (the seller) has a great reputation and the price may reflect the good quality and condition of the part.

besides that you will need the rave manual to see how to take the center console out. you will need a drill to drill the rivets out. you will need to cut a large hole in the metal plate so that the shifter can move left to right and further forward and back. you will also need a good vice and pair of pliers to bend the dog leg a bit more to line it up perfectly. other than that. some sheet metal screws to put the metal plate back in.

Thanks Ed,

I have the rave and a shop full of tools so all set there.

Just wanted to make sure that this appeared to have all the bits I would need to get it hooked up properly.

Have read on here that some people that got them off ebay had a bunch of required small parts missing.

Maybe I will look around for one that is cheaper since you feel that they are available for less.

Thanks,

Art

The good news is I'm sure marty who is selling that kit would include all needed bolts and clips. Be weary of people parting their first truck they will not be as aware of all the clips and bolts u will need.

There is no money to be made pulling shifters from D2, unless your time is not worth anything to you.
Marty is a good person to buy from and can be trusted completely.
As for the price, yes it is a little high but for the most part, no one has them in stock right now.

Save yourself the headache and just get the ashcroft one... wait a month to save up if you have to, its well worth it, i would have gone that route if i hadnt already cut up the cover plate.

You could always go this route.

I vote for this method, though perhaps a little more elaborate in doing so. Much easier than installing a CDL shifter and works just as good.
