It will be the control unit or a air gate that is not working properly. Have you tried the a/c self test yet to se if it is detecting anything? I believe you shold be able to find it in your owners manual.

I've got the same problem with my 96 SE7: driver's side is cold. Very cold. Passenger side is warm. Cool at best but it feels like outside air blowing in.

I've removed the **** to inspect it and determine whether it is actually being turned all the way. It is, as I discovered. So I don't know. I got no answers.

Also, I'm not sure this is normal: My A/C will, if blowing on full fan, occasionally switch off and after a few moments switch back on. Is this normal? Curious.

I have the same problem, but don't have the time or money to bring it to a dealer.
I would think a "door" is not closing properly, having a diagram which route the A/C would be helpfull [&:]

This isa low Freon symptom , You all have cars with systems that are low on freon, have the systems recharged and add dye if the leaks cant be located with a leak dector, slow leaks are difficult to locate , the dye leaves a tracer dye that can be found with a black light type of lamp, usually O-Rings at the condenser or expansion valve at the fire wall.

I still didn't take the time to look at it..... but I beleive it's a trap / door that is not closing properly.
Even on "heat" there is a temp difference between the passenger and driver.

I'm having so many electrical prob with this truck.....
