Hi! I recently picked up a '03 HSE7 with 106K on it with a known history from a local land rover dude. I've had several rovers, including RRC, a couple Series IIA's, and an 04 disco, so familiar with their engineering.

But I am stumped on some recent stuff I've been seeing on this one, hoping for some help, please.

I am working the DiscoMike service, and did the induction cleaning with SeaFoam twice, put in a couple cans of injector cleaner (seafoam, BG44K, Lucas), and did the tranny flush today. I will need to do the tranny flush a few more times over the next few weeks as it was burnt and disgusting. I did the complete power steering bleed by draining out the bleeder, and spinning the pump by hand with the belt off. Changed the water pump and the throttle heater as they were both leaking (I do have records showing new headgasket/radiator a few K miles ago. Cleaned the IAC, MAF, etc.

I threw an SES and checked it at A zone. Was P0441 - Purge valve, so I checked the purge valve. It closes properly and opens quickly under power. installed with hose clamps.

I am getting the occational cylinder misfire, but no SES. Seems like I can drive it a while, works fine. then go into a store, or drive it later, and am getting the occasional mis. plugs and wires were just replaced with the nice wires and plugs by the PO.

Any ideas or things that jump out? I am planning on continuing to drive it and see if the BG44K will clean out the injectors.... but wondered if someone had a different thought.

Thanks!

J

I hadn't thought of that. Thanks! I'll check that out.
