Default recommend a good HD front bumper for my 2000 DII

Since I busted up my flimsy stock front bumper cover running through a ditch at speed, I figure I might as well get rid of it and replace it with a good, new (or used) steel replacement. I've got the original LR brushguard that I'd maybe like to retain, but I could also always just sell that. Anyway, I don't plan on running a winch; I just need a good steel bumper that doesn't require anything other than pulling off my old stuff and throwing it in the trash. I'm not looking to pay more than around $500 or $600.

Thanks in advance.

So you want something quality for the price of nothing, basically.

No, what I asked for were actual recommendations for steel bumpers from other Land Rover owners; not one-liners mocking the amount of money I was thinking of spending. If I wanted to spend $1500 for a custom one, I'd just drive 15 minutes down the road to New Braunfells, TX. There is a basic steel one that looks pretty good on Ebay Motors for $600, but it does not have tow hooks. Again: I'm looking for recommendations here.

There's this: WINCH BUMPER TERRAFIRMA DISCOVERY II, TF009A, disco 2 front bumpers - Land Rover Parts | Rovers North

But then you'll have to pay shipping. Some places can make you a custom one for less than that. A member on here recently had that done.

Have you seen these? I'm in the same position...my stock bumper is busted and if I can find something around $500 (cost of a salvage bumper) then i'd rather upgrade!

I have an ARB but it will cost double your budget plus a few bucks. TerraFirma as ZG said is about the cheapest one I have seen. Thats a good price on it also. Shipping will be about $100.00 I believe.

I've found a source for a very-nice winch bumper that IS within the price range I listed. The company is Custom 4x4 Fabrication out of Oklahoma City, OK. Here is a link to their website for Discovey winch bumpers.

I don't know how to make that "clicky" on this site, but the prices are SUPER fair. $450 bare or $500 powdercoated for the base bumper or $640 for the powdercoated package with pre-runner bar and clevises. Shipping from OK to TX isn't going to kick my *** either. The prices on the site are as of 2007, but I'm in contact with Mike, the owner, and he's told me the prices are accurate and up to date.

edited to add that the link is "clicky".

SkymonkeyONE, if you have already been talking with the guy why dont you ask him for a group rate, There has got to be at least 5 people looking for bumpers at the right price.

I'd like one of those if he could suck it in about 6".
