Default refinishing alloys on Disco 2

3 of 4 of the alloys on my new (to me) disco are in serious need of some TLC. Lot of the clear is flaking off. No visible curb rash though.
What's the proper way of refreshing them? Aircraft stripper applied to them, scrub off the clear, bit of sanding where needed with progressively higher
grits until finish is nice and uniform and then reapply new clearcoat? ie: no paint needed?

This is what I did. Turned out pretty good and is still holding up well. https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...34/#post731355

If you can remove the tires, take them to a powdercoater. I've done the wheels on my last three trucks in satin black and they always hold up well.

Powdercoating is the 100% the way to go. Cost me $450 for all 5. No BS and they look factory brand new and will hold up for 20 more years.

I live in Pittsburgh and just locally around me there’s three or four different powdercoaters. The one I went to actually has all the equipment to take the tires on and off making it a one stop shop.
