Default Replaced my pads, rotors and front props haft

So, I knew my brakes were spent, so i ordered a set, and while searching on here for a kit, I read about the whole front props haft "U joint" thing and got a propshaft from Great Basin Utah. Then called up my close friend, mechanic in Naperville, IL and he replaced them for me. I'm pretty mechanical, but am disabled now so my strength and dexterity is gone for the time being.

everything went well, except for the front passenger caliper had a seized piston, so we replaced the caliper as well. They were the most worn down pads and rotors he had seen. I knew they were bad, so I would take it real easy driving. I'll see if i can upload some pics.

front pas. rotor cracker and super thin...
original propshaft looked ok
pads beyond gone
all good now

So I was driving back to chicago, and the ride was smooth the whole way, about 30 miles, then the last 7 miles or so I thought I felt a vibration (50mph to 65 mph) in the center console area... propshaft? or road surface? Maybe the propshaft wasn't balanced properly? I'll check all the bolts in the morning. I'll give it another test drive tomorrow. Maybe I'm just paranoid about new parts?

overall, I'm very happy, and am looking forward to the Timing case, chain, and oil pump replacement next, as well as replacing fluids

yeah, I knew they were bad, so I made sure I drove as little as possible and with plenty of following distance. On the drive to Naperville from Chicago, about 35 miles, I stepped on the brakes twice the whole trip. I'm so relieved they are replaced.

I checked the front propshaft this morning, all nuts and bolts tight and no play in the shaft, so I'll test drive it again see how it feels. I'm hoping that vibration was the road surface combined with paranoia.

maybe I should get them balanced. while replacing the brakes, I noticed some small nails in a few of the tires... result of living in chicago and having to drive thru an alley to get to my garage. I got the tires from discount tire with insurance so that may pay itself back

I took it for a short drive today, got it up to 75 and did feel a high frequency vibration. I had my hand on the shifter, and felt it. I'll test it again tonite with fewer cars on road

ha, yeah... nothing like driving a 6000lb wrecking ball with little to stop it.

I got a set off ebay, from ELine (that was mentioned by a couple forum members) that was like $270. so far so good. I wanted akebono pads, but will have to wait for next time. just needed a 13mm and 19mm 12 point socket. ot

nahtanoj.... have you done anything about the oil pump? or are you unaffected by the defect?

my disco is in the VIN range, but with 120K and not so much as a hint of an oil pressure problem, i'm not worried about it. if it was gonna go it would have gone. or possibly it did go and was already replaced by a previous owner.
i don't lose any sleep over it. runs like a top.
