Responsible land rover driver look

I've always found 'lifestyle' an interesting and engaging topic and it has always amazed me as to how many people actually buy into it. So...obviously something.. some pull, magnetic force, or quirk, drew me in to Rover 'ownership'. Did I think that perhaps if I owned a Land Rover I would live the lifestyle advertised? Or was it that I just liked the uniqueness of the Rover and didn't want to be like everyone else on the road? Hmm.. probably the latter. It definitely wasn't 'status' as each time I get into my 'rambling wreck' I pray that it will transport me from point A to point B without any major mishaps.
I have things leaking...parts rotting... and still when I look at it parked outside, sitting there by itself, I get all proud and flushed and smile. So obviously, it isn't status. When my mind goes on a tangent and I think about what else I would prefer to drive if I were to change?... well now.. nothing seems to excite me. I merely want the Rover I've had all these years to plug along with me and continue listening to me sing (or swear.. ) as I ramble down the road. I'm attached and I feel like we're part of each other.
So back to attire.. and lifestyle. There are people (some may be on this forum) who have to live the lifestyle and purchase the overall look. Bought the vehicle, own Simms outerwear, load up the toys.. work hard all week and live the lifestyle on the weekends. Nothing wrong with that I guess.
Moi? I prefer to throw on my flip flops, jeans and a t-shirt, don my green 'military' jacket and hoist myself in and see where this leaking jalopy will lead me. If anything, I get a smile knowing that there are others out there like me just living life, taking in the sights, one oil drip at a time
