i've got the 245/75 r16 duratracs on my stock 16x8" wheels and i wouldn't go any thinner than that. the tread pattern is basically the same as the rim width. if you could come across 16x7"s then i'd go for it. i originally wanted to go 235's but could only come up with 16x8"s in a price i was willing to pay. very happy with my 245's.

I thought about that with the treadwrights because the tread width is 7", but the section width is 9.2". too many options.

 

My friend Graham has some stock 16"x7" alloys that he is selling. I just bought some hurricane rims off of him for a very good price.

I am sure they are 7" wide, I put some calipers on them to check.

Your post kind of got me thinking about buying them to run those 235/85 snow tires for winter, but the 18" rims just look so much better on my Range Rover.

All NAS D2 alloys are 8" wide unfortunately, I have searched long and far for 7" wide ones and they were only available in UK/ROW.

I assure you these are factory wheels and are 7" wide. You want me to take pictures with calipers on them?

 

If you can that'd be great, I've searched everywhere for 7" wide wheels. I want to see which style they are as well.

 

Also either way I'd like to meet up and go wheeling some time depending on where you are in the state. Not a lot of Rover enthusiasts around here.

 

They look like mini hurricanes, but there is no slice in the spoke.
I need to borrow some calipers and make my way out to Grahams house for a photo shoot. He doesn't have a Rover anymore, he wrapped it around a tree. He has a whole bunch of interesting things he pulled off his Disco II before he scrapped it.

I just sold my Disco II after I bought my P38.

Cool, I live in Calais but I spend most of my time in Montpelier. I get out to Burlington quite often, I'll be over there on Monday actually.

There are some really, I mean really gnarly trails up in Calais where I live.
