Default Rocker Cover Bolts???

Hello All,

I'm leaking oil around the rocker cover gaskets and i want to tighten them but...... the bolts on my 03 are 12point. I don't have a 12 point small enough to fit on the bolts so I'm trying to find it online as the 5 hardware stores on this island don't have what I need. What size are they and what socket do you guys use?

Thanks

Most 1/4" socket sets have a socket that will fit. Make sure not to over tighten the bolts, 6 foot pounds is what the factory sets them at I think 12 is better, they won't vibrate loose so easy.

I went to Sears and bought my 12pt 8mm socket for mt 1/4" rachet for $4.
I think by using a 1/4" drive you cant over tighten them.

Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy...this is standard Rover leakage. For some odd ball reason the bolts that hold the rocker covers on vibrate loose over time and then the valve covers start to leak.
Next time you go to Sears pick up a 12pt 8mm 1/4" drive socket.
Replacing the valve cover gaskets is a job and a half.

lol.... Peter / chicken brawl...

Anyway, I knew it was a 12point 1/4 drive socket but i couldn't figure out if it was a 8mm or 9mm. I have found 12 peacc sets on ebay that include this size so i may have to go with that!!

Thanks!
