I really like the baja racks.

AZ - you mentioned that they have a new D1 rack? Looks like the racks are generic. Which were you referring to?

if you are looking to do a rack and dont want to spend 800 to 1000 bucks on one,,,,

i have a thule super high base mount and bars with a roof basket. it is big enough to carry gear and jerry cans if need be, has bolt on mounts (extra) that hold a high lift and shovel.

and it was about 400 bucks to piece together and i can add a extension to the basket and add about 18 more inches of space. i can lift and remove/take off the rack myself in about 5 minutes.

 

Sloppy - What mounts are you using for your hi-lift?

 

yakima makes a mount kit that bolts to the roof basket. same with the shovel/pick mount.

 

It depends on how you camp do you pull a trailer like I do? Or are you all in one ?
