it's a 97 SE. i'm not sure exactly if its a d1 or d2 cause i've never really been told the difference between those. i'm kinda new to the whole rover scene obviously. is it the year that makes the difference or does it have to do with the trim or certain options? i think it's a d1 from what i've seen online so far though.

You have a Disco I .
The biggest way to tell is the tail lights DI's are lower and smaller
than the DII's that are higher up and are much larger.
The Disco II came out in 1999 the Disco I was still in the first part
of 1999 in the U.S. after that it was gone.

i dont think Emus go any bigger than a 2" lift, so unless you plan on lifting the body as well, it looks like you might want to go with RoverTym.
You can get a 3" OME lift, And I highly recomend it. Check out this link

Nice site, just got off the phone with them and gonna get a lift kit that will let me run 32 inch tall tires!!! Woohoo! 8-)

SurfRover,
Do your self a favor, go out with some experienced Rover buddies, stir up a little dust, see what their truck's will do and see how yours performs, see what they did to fix theirs up. You need to know your truck well, before you you start throwing parts at it cause you won't land up with what you want till you know what you have.
D1's are great vehicles, if you recently bought it, work on maintance items first and go play.
Mike

I have OME on mine but it is stock height with heavy frt springs
for my ARB bumper and winch and standard rear springs.
The ride is superb, with how and where I use my truck
its what I needed.
