Default Saudi Grille

Do any of you have a Saudi Grille on your Disco? Is it metal or metal/plastic? Do you have any pictures that you can send me?
Can you tell me what you paid for it?

Thanks, Mike

I wish. Saw one a few months ago on ebay but it looked pretty worn. Not sure why someone hasn't started making those again, very cool look and someone could make a nice chunk of change selling them.

A bunch of guys on www.discoweb.org bought some from the UK. Do a search, I think they paid like $100 per grill, shipping was more than the grill though. They bulk shipped and shared the cost.

I'm just pulling what I can find online..maybe it will give you some leads:
It's part of a aftermarket kit called the GULF Campaigne.
I was one of the guinea pigs for it back in Saudi in 98'. It's not just a grill though. The entire kit is made up of a bigger capacity radiator, bigger fan shroud, 120 amp alternator, new plastic fittings all over the place and a plastic type skid pan to go underneath the radiator.
The purpose of the kit was to improve both engine cooling and the air conditioning performance. 100% of the air going through the grill is therefore uterlised into cooling....and very effective it is too!

Simmonittes in the UK make a sports grill similar to the Saudi one but it's just for show. The actual grills themselves are worth a packet now...and even out here in the Gulf I am always looking for them in the breakers yards for people like yourself who want them.
I also read a few posts of ppl making there own

The Saudi Grill allows more airflow through the radiator, when it is 125 degrees in the shade you need all the cooling you can get.

llesra,

Any idea where your dad scored yours? If anyone finds someone/place selling them, let us know.

Thanks
