Second New Power Steering Pump Not Pumping Either
I bought an All makes for my 1997 Discovery and it went on OK.
Worked.
Only problem is if you crank the hub bolts too tight that hold on the power steering pulley, the cast metal on the input shaft breaks on the Allmakes.
Inferior quality - that's for sure.

I am in Canada and so it is much easier and cheaper for me to order parts straight from the Uk, parts to my door in 2 days, and this is where I ordered my power steering pumps from and as it turns out they are both Allmakes pumps.
I have been in direct contact with Allmakes and they are having me return the two pumps, at their cost, so that they can examine / test them for factory defaults.
Do your homework before buying a power steering pump. As someone else mentioned, it seems that there are two different qualities of Allmakes pumps for the Discovery.

Yep, I just had the same issue yesterday when installing mine. The threads broke loose on one of the mounting hole of the flange that the pulley mounts to. Luckily I still have some threads left on it and with a longer bolt and some locktite it is secure.
Sorry to drag up an old thread.
but I have recently had this issue and resolved it.
bought a new pump, fitted it and filled with oil. Fired it up with no pressure from the new pump.
I proved this when I disconnected the high pressure side of the pump and ran it up..... still nothing.
But I discovered that the high pressure side was sucking.
stripped the pump down and reversed the internals and solved my issues.
worth a look if anyone is reading this.
hope it helps.
