The steering stabilizer does nothing unless you are hard core off roading and bouncing your front wheels off of rocks and Honda's and even then it's not necessary.

I agree with this. I have a fresh Bilstein. It dampens some of the vibration driving over cobblestones (offroad) but for most driving, I haven't noticed a big difference with it on or off. On paved roads it might be better with it off.

This,

The medium-duty OME kit is also listed as a 2" lift over stock but most folks seem to get closer to 1 1/2".

On a bit of a different note, how much should I be looking to pay for new brakes and rotors

Is a set like EBC necessary or should I go with something cheaper such as the ferodo?

EBC:
Land Rover Discovery II Brake Kits - Brake Pads, Rotors & Kits Online

Ferodo:
Brake Rebuilding Kit For Land Rover Discovery Series II | Land Rover Brake Parts

Standard:

When it comes to brakes...brakes is brakes, buy whatever you want, they all do the exact same thing.

haha yeah it's just surprising to hear it so much on here, christ the vehicles barely drive fast enough to require brakes, let alone performance ones...

And yes I understand the idea of having great brakes for offroading, but as long as they hold they're good enough for me.

Well there is a certain train of thought by some that you need to spend the mortgage check on parts for your 10yr old car, I am not of that mindset.

I'm a FedEx driver, I eat brakes for lunch, spend alittle, spend alot, they all do the same thing.
The more expensive ones last alittle longer but not enough to make up the cost difference.
Buy lifetime warranty brakes from the local parts store and you can change them once a week if you needed to.
