Default Shocks, best bang for the $$$

Hey all,

Red Rover 233k needs new suspension (original). I found all four terrafirma on the AB site for $268 shipped. Im not doing too much off roading in the next year, just love driving this beast. Road is getting very noisy, every bump is a clang.

Thoughts?

Stefan

I have had the OME Sport Shocks for years, and have been very happy with them, and would do them again.

I like TF shocks & springs however their finish is kinda weak so spray with some clear before mounting.

i put terrafirmas on mine, both shocks and springs. huge improvement over stock. install d1 spring bases in the rear for an extra half inch or so of height.

You might consider doing springs and steering damper as well. Putting new shocks on with clapped out springs will prematurely destroy your new shocks.

Consider shock towers as well
when putting my 2 inch terrafirma my shock towers fell apart in my hands
plus they are critical and take a lot of punishment
the terrafirma ones are sweet and solid

+1 on the shock towers since you have to remove them to change the shocks and/or coils anyway, and yes the tf ones are good.

Depends on where the truck lived/lives. Not everyone lives up in the salt belt with us fortunately.
