The galvanized frame replacement from RoverParts is currently selling for 5 grand. If the truck were around 5k you could afford the replacement frame. Then you'd need to either put it on yourself or pay someone to do it. ANd that's only if you're lucky and its just the frame.

For $500 yes. Any DI or DII is worth $500 unless it has been totaled.

Geez! $10k-$13k ? Maybe I should sell Chloe and put that money into Clarkson? she’s sorted, daily driver level kind off sorted, very little surface rust and in great condition…
However, it’s just hard to part with a well sorted Disco. Especially for the bargain I got it for.

I'll give you $500 for Chloe. Apparently that's the fair market value.

Yeah. That’s a hard no to that. I just picked up mine last week, 2002 - 4K with 98k miles - surface rust (I still think this price is high to be honest).. it’ll take a while but you’ll find a good deal soon! Keep looking

Sadly that seller can probably unload it on a victim that does not know to look for frame rust. That's if the rest of the truck cleans up well and drives fine.

OP, even today you can do better than that for the money. I bought my 2004 with about the same mileage for $6700 in March of this year. No rust. I bought it from a girl who had owned it for 10 years and was selling it because she lost her job due to covid and couldn't afford to keep putting premium gas in it. Be patient and you'll find a better truck for your money.

There are several nice rigs on the Forum classified. And here in the Northwest, there are a few for sale in Oregon and Washington. for around $10k with a lot of the "headache" work already done. Here's one:

I don't know the seller or have any connection to them. Just pointing out what is available in my area.

@DiscoJunction Thanks for the tips. I checked the Forum classifieds and there’s only one for sale and I’m not interested in it. I also checked the CL one in Oregon and texted the seller. It’s got a few more miles on it than I want, but it appears well maintained and sorted. Any chance you’d be willing to run over and check it out for me? I’ll mail you a little “thank you” check for your time. . I hope that’s not offensive, but seriously I’m happy to pay a knowledgeable Disco enthusiast to check out the car since I’m in Wisconsin and unable to do it myself.
