Default Side Step options?

I was wondering if there are any minimal side step options. Long story short: my GF is partially disabled so needs that extra boost to get in safely. Shes fine using the rocker panels right now but wet/snowy weather will make that very dangerous. I personally don't want big ol' running boards so some maybe front seat only steps or something hidden/retractable would be awesome. Any ideas would be great!

ARB makes a protection step. Kinda a nice setup for those that don't need true rock sliders.

Not sure why anyone would pay that sort of money for something that can be torn off so easily of road.

Full on side steps is too much crap stuck to the side of the truck. I guess I could go with sliders so at least if something is there its still practical.

I guess if you don't go off roading than it isn't a problem.
