slight miss at idle no codes....but

just wondering how smooth should the engine idle warm?

lipadj46 09-03-2010 12:42 PM

It should be very smooth, check and see if one of your fan blades is cracked, check your engine and transmission mounts as they tear easily, clean out your idle solenoid with throttle body cleaner.

where is the idle solenoid located?

lipadj46 09-03-2010 01:16 PM

Its that tin can looking thing above the intake with 2 hoses connected to it.

What octane gas are you using, have you done an induction clean yet? I would stay away from the idle solenoid for now, most likely isn't the problem and too many people have screwed them up trying to clean them.
Did you also change your air filter, are you using paper or K&N type?

agthird 09-03-2010 02:24 PM

paper filter...93 octane...new plugs and wires...tell me about induction cleaning please sir...

neve rmind saw the write up will do the seafoam thing....

Disco Mike 09-03-2010 03:11 PM

If you want to do it right, use a whole can of Seafoam for the induction cleaning and throw a can of BG's 44K in the gas tank before a couple hour trip on the highway.

okay can do that thanks Mike...
