Default sloppy line of parts,,,

thinking about producing my own line of off road gear for the discoveries.

if i can produce things like rock rails, shields for the diffs and PS pump, maybe even work up to a bumper and brush guard.

all parts powder coated and welded. i am looking to possible make a alternative to the very expensive parts sold online. equal in quality and looks but not carrying huge overhead and therefore more cost effective to the majority of us.

first up are rock rails and skid plates.

does anyone have dimensions and mounting points they can give to me to give me a idea. also angles and pictures.

Well as far as rock sliders go 99LRDisc bought the Borbfarbrication ones and then totalled his truck before he could install them.
He wants to sell them, I was going to buy them but dont have the cash.
You could buy them and then copy them, they are for a DI but you would get the idea of mounting points and dimensions.
I have his e-mail if you are interested.
Wish I could buy them from him, they are the exact ones I want.
Oh well, whats a guy gonna do?

after seeing how expensive these parts are online i am positive that i can design them and have a pro fab shop make them for me.

its robbery in some cases how much they want for some parts that are just heavy gauge steel

I hear ya, and if you use scrap steel it will be even cheaper yet.
My sand ladders that I had made years ago were under $200 for the pair made out of steel and plasma cut to length and everything.
I carry them in my work van in the winter time, I need to put rope handles on them though and figure out someway to tie them to the van so they dont go flying out from under the tires when on ice.
I have lost them more than once in a snow bank several feet behind the van.
Need to paint the tips hunter orange too I think.
All idea's you can use Sloppy.

Mesh grills would sell like hot cakes, in fact, I think anything thats cheaper than what's out there would sell like crazy. There is a reason why they can keep prices so high and its because people WILL pay for it. Just think of how much you could make by being cheaper. IMO the off road accessories market is pretty strong, espesically in the Land Rover world.
