Default SLS or rear coil springs- which is better?

Don't know if I should have posted this in the suspension forum or maybe general tech help? Anyways I recently purchased a 2004 Discovery SE7 w/ 60k and I noticed it has springs in the back. I thought this was strange as Iunderstood that 7 passenger Discovery's have SLS standard. My '99 D2 SD7 hadSLS but the PO converted the air bags to springs at around 100k.
The ride quality and stance in both trucks seems fine, and I'm happy that my new '04 has springs. Personally I'd rather have less problem-prone accessories. Leave the SLS/EAS and ACE for trucks still under warranty or for mechanics that have to have those options. Otherwise if I've got it right these things aren't meant for the 100k+ journey. What does everyone think? Are the benefits that great in SLS/EAS and ACE? After reading some recent literature on the '08 RR Sport I guess that whatever it uses (some newer version of ACE?) makes the thing corner like it's on rails, but does the same apply for older LR's?

Ihave the same truck and I also was told that if it was an "7" passenger that it came with SLS but after doing some record/maint. research from the local dealer, I was told thatmine was ordered with the SLS deleted. Hetold me to look for the switch on the dash, notthere and thecompressor box on the frame, not there, just the mount. So I guess the 7's can come without the SLS.

I have SLS and ACE in my 100,000 mile old 99 D2 and wouldn't give either of them up. My truck is more comfortable, even with it's 3" lift and corned/drives better then one without the ACE/SLS.

Not too long ago I loaded over 1000 lbs of cargo on my 2000 LR Series II SE7. Thanks for the SLS it leveled to its normal stance.
In my seven years and 103,000 miles I've had the LR, outside of warranty work on the ACE, I only had to change 1 sensor.
Very happy with it.
