Default Sneeky Valve Cover Bolts

I noticed some seepage around a couple of my valve cover bolts. I pulled my trusty 12 pt. 8 mm socket and tightened them all up. I noticed that several of them were loose, as much as a full turn or more. I drove around for about an hour last night, checked them again this morning and a couple were loose again (oil seepage was back as well on the loose ones). Any ideas on the best way to snug them up to keep them snug, lock washers, composite gaskets to keep the seepage down? Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks Phil

I had the same problem, not worth trying to pull the outside 4 bolts to put any sort of lock-tite on them, it won't work if tightening them didn't help. Chances are your gaskets are just too far gone, and you can't get to the inside bolts w/out removing the upper manifold. As long as you're somewhat handy, just by new VC and intake manifold gaskets and do it yourself. Cheap fix and about 5 hours of work.

Oops, just noticed you have a DI. I have a DII w/ secondary air which makes that job more of a pain in the butt. Should be even easier for you, maybe 3 hours.

Passenger side you have to remove the fuel line and drivers sid, you have to pull a little of the intake off, but it is easy. 2 hours tops for both sides.
