I was on lunch today and heard a sound of maybe a bongo drum or like a milk jug popping out into place.It was coming from the engine like the back part of it it only occured when turning off ignition no check engine light still rolling very smooth anybody and eveybody out there what could this be?Is she dying on me I hope not 1996 SE 122,111 on the odometer.I really don't know what a knock engine sounds like.

did it only make the noise that one time or does it consistently make the noise when you turn off the ignition?

 

The noise came from in between the valve covers.

 

Well It just started and now It does it every other time I turn off the ignition.

 

hmm not sure what that could be...maybe an intake valve? Odd that it only does it every other time.

 

Maybe need to flush engine.

 

you could try but that wouldnt do much for a intake valve knocking around..IF thats what the noise is.

 

I think something is loose. You will really nrrd to investgate this.
