Default Steering wheel rubber/leather grip is looose from steel core--can it be glued?

My steering wheel grip,.....the leather covered rubber portion, is loose from the steel central core on the top from about 9-3 O'clock. I've thought about maybe poking or drilling a small hole on the back of the steering wheel,....and injecting some kind of adhesive......It would have to be something that takes a bit of volume (not super glue),...as I can feel the steering wheel grip move back and forth around the steel core quite a bit,....so thinking of something like Automotive Goop which I have had lots of success with bonding dis-similar materials,.........Doesnt come with a pointed nozzle suitable for "Injecting" into a small hole however,.....and I have noticed that in an oxygen free environment......cure times can be several days to a week.

Anyone been down this road? Suggestions?
