I was doing some googlefu and found this aux in adapter in the England. Has anyone tried it, they have it on their eBay too (eBay.co.uk) with shipping to the states ~$50

I've not seen that but why would we want it when the GROM Audio Bluetooth works great and is so much more convenient? Yes the GROM is more money but it's well worth it.

A GROM would only be convenient if your portable music storage device has also Bluetooth.
That said, this is not line-level input. Headphone input is subject to distortion.

The Grom is awesome. I have it behind the temperature control, and a usb cord so I can charge my iPhone.

Hmmm. I didn't realise that the GROM had USB as well. That raises a couple of questions for me:
- Will it tolerate a USB hub so you could have multiple devices?
- Since it uses the CD port on the head unit, could you run a USB CD player so you could still play discs instead of having to rely solely on electronic media?
- Is there anything that works with the high line (i.e. non-Alpine) head units?

These are all good questions for GROM. They are really helpful and responsive. Just email them and they will get back to you.

I just installed the $60.00 GRom aux-in unit, the non bluetooth one. It was very easy to do and the system, works amazing. I was planning on doing a little install video soon, stay posted.
Just pulled out the deck, plugged it in, tucked everything in behind the deck, poked a little hole on the vent and ran the cable through the driverside, vent.

Only thing I would recommend is buy a better aux cable, the one they supply is crap.

This is the unit I bought. you unplug the CD input in back of the stereo and plug this in. Everything works the same.
