Subwoofer
I posted a second ago on getting a new head unit please ignore that. i want to install my sub without a head unit and use a line converter. i have the standard lear amp not the harmon. The stock subwoofers do not have a small amp attached to the back of them. what do i need to do in order to connect the line converter? I'm planing on using a powered sub

I kept my stock head unit and used a speaker wire to RCA converter like this one (Car Stereo Output Converter | by Scosche) to get RCA hookup. Then all you have to do is tap into the remote wire, and run a Power and Ground wire to your amp. You keep the steering wheel controls and the factory amp. Don't forget a fuse on the power wire.

First let me say that it is not a great idea to go cutting behind the dash if you no nothing about wiring. This might be a job for a pro. With that said, I will try and walk you through it. I am by no means a pro.
1) Disconnect the battery.
2) You need to spice into both the right and left factory sub wires. You run the positive and negative from the left sub to the left input side of the converter. Then you run the pos. and neg. wire from the right factory sub to right input side of the converter.
3) Now you can plug your RCA cable's into the output side of the converter and run it to your amp. (The converter has a small ground wire that you need to find a place to ground to)
4) Now you need to run a remote wire to your amp. The remote wire is the wire that tells your amp to turn on and off with the radio. You need to pull the factory head unit and tap into the remote wire in the radio harness. I can't remember what color wire it is, but I will try and go pull my unit and check.
5) You need to run a large gauge wire directly from your amp to the battery for power. Be sure that you have a fuse between the battery and your amp. If you buy an install kit it usually comes with everything you need (RCA,remote, power, fuse and ground)
6) Last you need to run a heavy ground cable to your amp.
That is the basic process. I'll go check on the remote wire color right now

This is how i did mine
Pop open and you will find this
(wires were just a mock up in the pics btw, it looked beeter when i was done) The br/bl & pr/bl wires go together for right (i think its been a while) and the rd/bl & yl/bl wires are left stock sub woofer speaker. Just tap into them for your amp input and run your + & - where you want or like i did below.
Ran it through here then zip-tied it to the frame towards the battery. The negative was easier.
Since i couldn't find the stock radio remote wire (plus i was being lazy), i just tapped into the positive on the cigarette 12v by the shifter.

The pos. and neg. wires for the left speaker will go into the input side of the converter, and will become the left wire for the RCA.

Plug your speaker wires here.
Then plug your RCA in the output and run it to the amp.
Thus 4 wires become 2.
I do not understand how you will not need a remote wire. If you find out that you do, it is the pink and blue wire on the bottom grey connector in the back of your radio. (It is right next to a lime green wire in mine)
