Is this sunroof/cover OE or aftermarket? I've only seen the perforated shades on Discos... this is on a 1999 DII

That's funny, because I prefer the perforated shades!

I'm somewhat unsure about getting a vehicle with aftermarket moon roofs. I don't know if they are, but that shade makes me wonder.

My 96 Discovery doesn't have a perforated shade. It's solid and looks to be OEM. I can shoot a picture tomorrow if it will help...

Mine just has the front moon/sun roof. But the cover is black.

Since we are talking about it...how do you open the cover but keep the glass closed? I see there are two little clip type latch looking things, one on each side. I tried to push them in toward the center and slid the cover but it only moved about a inch or two..

If you just have the front one I think that it is an aftermarket addon.

I am 95% sure mine is aftermarket. It is made by Webasto. Their site says they make both Original Equipment and Aftermarket though...

Am I being over cautious in being wary of aftermarket moon roofs?

Personally, I like the shades because they retract totally out of the way when open. I can also open the roof for ventilation, but pull the shades if the sun is bothering anyone.
