Default Surging under load p0171 & p0174

Hey guys I have a 2000 Disco II with 175k. I have encountered an weird issue. The vehicle idles great, rev's very smooth. But about 10 min into driving it is like the engines power is cut for about 2-5 seconds then suddenly the power comes back, and continues to do that until it cannot maintain that cycle and will then die. After I shut it down and restart it, it runs fine for a minute or two but then goes back to that cycle. I have cleaned the throttle body and MAF. Thinking I need to replace the O2 sensors but wanted to find out if anyone else has had a similar issue. The codes I get are p0171 and p0174. Those are it and they are not even hard faults just continue as pending. No other codes. Like the title of the forums says, it seems to only do this while driving and accelerating, seems to do it faster when accelerating hard. When I sit there and powerbrake and put load to it that way it doesnt seem to do it. I guess it only happens when its in motion.

Hello, I had P0174, P0157, P0117 and they all went away after I had my exhaust leaks all seeled up. Put new cats in and when I finally had them properly welded all the codes went away.
That being said, I have no idea how that would effect your acceleration and dieing issue. Sorry.

Default Update

So I replaced all 4 oxygen sensors and it is running much smoother and the original codes are gone. I now have a p0155 and p0153 something with the bank2 sensor1. I will figure that out. My problem still exists, but I found a new problem, while it is under load I can hear the fuel pump shut off for a few seconds then come back on. What do I check to see if the fuel pump is faulty or what else would cause the fuel pump to shut off?

Default Cannot believe it

So while pulling the fuel pump i noticed what looks like sugar. Its all in the pump and all the filters and huge clumps in the fuel tank itself. I wonder how long that stuff has been in this tank and if that is why it has been so underperforming.

Now for the fun question...Do I have to buy the entire assembly to get a new fuel filter? I Have the pump assembly taken apart and it will need new filters...but Like I have been reading, you have to buy the entire pump.

If anyone knows where you can get that paper filter I would appreciate it! Other than that, just waiting to fit it. My guess also is that this is the reason that the while fueling the vehicle it takes 30 minutes...my breather tubes are all clogged up.

Thanks guys
