Survey: would you buy new lug nuts?
A buddy of mine runs a prototyping machine shop (one of his projects is a Moto 2 Moto GP bike of his design, take a look) US Moto2 Bike
I was taking to him about how much the stock stainless covered lug nuts suck, and he said he would consider making new steel lug nuts with a rust proof coating if the demand was there.
He said that due to the cost of materials and machining time they would likely be expensive. What are they worth to you?
So the question is: Would you buy a set? We need to produce about 50 sets to make it worth doing.

$5 each would be reasonable if I needed one I suppose? But that $140 for a full set (including spare)...no thanks.
I don't understand what all the hub-bub is about the stock DII lugs. I've taken mine off a bunch of times without an ounce of issue.
Harbor Freight 24" Breaker Bar + Socket = Lugs Off Each and Every Time With No Issue.

I've not had any issues on my D2, but my D1 was in bad shape, and some lug nuts were missing when I got it, so I bought a complete set.
Also, just so you know, the SPARE lug nuts with the bump on the cap are for the tire carrier ONLY and shouldn't be used on the road wheels. I wouldn't replace those... I'd hope the tire shop didn't use an impact on full power to zip them on.

I go to my local wrecking yard and buy extras in case I loose a cover. I get them for $1 each and usually you can have the pick of whatever ones you want, so you can find almost brand new ones in great shape. Personally I have many other things on the disco to spend $100 on so I would pass. I love guys thinking outside the box though so dont be discouraged.
