Default SWAP Rear A/C 03 D2 to 04 D2

Any advice or experiences transferring Rear A/C to another "non-rear A/C" D2?
Target for the transfer is my restored 04 D2 Sport.
I picked up a junker 03 SE-7 for the rear jumper seats and, it also has rear A/C. Paid $500.
Anyone done this? Please advise..
Much appreciated
My concern are the A/C "lines".. Wondering if they were installed in a non-accessible way at factory assembly..

I have asked the same before.
Apparently the rear ac has a seperate unit and alot of front to rear lines. As well as vents in the rear of the headliner.
That it would be very time consuming.
Otherwise, still doable.

Default D2 Sport to Receive Se-7 rear AC

Yep.. The lines are the major concern . Of course the motor heads have a/c lines of some kind.
I have a junk 03SE-7 with rear A/C for all the parts..
Any experience out there welcome & appreciated.

The rear a/c evaporator is above the rear wheel, and the fan/ductwork is behind the driver’s side jump seat. There are lines from the back evaporator to somewhere up front, because it is fed freon off the same condenser. They are accessible from under the vehicle, so don’t worry about that.

You’ll need to wire up the rear controller as well, and possibly use an obdII tool to modify the BCU. You’ll need the headliner with the vents/controls as well.

I’d imagine studying the RAVE manual is your best course of action, but this will not be easy. Not impossible either.

Are you swapping in Jump Seats?

Default A/C Rear Swap D2

Yes, rear jumper seat swap as well, thanks because complete hardware is there to do so.

I do have two extra rear jumper seats from ebay I'll post for sale once Project is complete in a couple months.
Lucked out with this junk 03 se7..

Any recommendations regarding aftermarket stock or rather, not excessively huge front bumper replacement appreciated. Solid metal, no crap plastic like original..
Thank you

You'll also have to install the seatbelt and all the jump seat mount points if you're planning on using the rear jumps. The rear "cabinetry" is also particular to the 7-seat models, with special latch points and cutouts.
And then if anyone is injured while riding in one of them and you get in a crash, you're probably on the hook for liability since the vehicle didn't come with them installed from the factory.

Oh, and the jump seats are so uncomfortable that they're almost unusable. Only make people sit in them if you really hate them.

X1 ................ doable, yep, but not easy. The rear AC is a totally separate unit with tapped common AC pipes from the front but all accessible. There are other problems like fan power supplies, AC rear controls, ductwork to the roof/headliner outlets etc. You have to ask yourself the question "is it worth all the trouble", IMHO, no. IMHO it's 3-5 days (40 hours plus) continuous hard work plus a regas (R134a pump down and later a recharge). It assumes you have all the correct tools and welding equipment, but you may hit other problems along the way. Good luck if you attempt it.

PS: Read the RAVE manual carefully first.
