Temporarily disabling traction control?
What is the best way to temporarily disable traction control?
I have a 2001 DII that won't turn right under power without the TC light coming on and the whole truck bogging, jerking and jumping.
Turns left just fine and turns right in neutral fine.
Just got it returned from private mechanic that did all four ball joints. I'm hoping he simply broke one of the sensors or something simple like that.
Update:
New discovery on the Discovery.
If I go over 60mph, the TC lights up on the dash, it sounds like the ABS starts kicking in and the rig pulls HARD to the left. So maybe the....
Naw, better hope for someone smarter than me to see this....but I think I'm screwed.

Easiest way I know of is to engage the CDL. Using a 10mm open ended wrench, crawl up under the truck and reach your hand on top of the transfer case and you should feel a nipple, hook the wrench up to it and you can engage/disengage the CDL.
Engaging disables the traction control, e brakes and hill descent.
That's what I would do to test it out. Some lights will flash on the dash- CDL, tc and electronic brakes.

Using the wrench and the nipple, engage/disengage with the truck off (key ignition off).

Thanks Sloan. Will this tell me what's wrong? I only have dry roads and I'm wondering if locking the CDL will make it still jump while turning? That's what my first 4X4 would do on dry roads if I remember correctly.

Disconnecting nearly any component of the ABS system is going to send it into fault mode (and turn it off).
The modulator is easy to get to (right under the hood).

TC coming on at 60 on dry payment? Yikes! In order for the TC to turn on, the brain (our friend the SLABS) has to see that one or more wheels are spinning a different speeds (it applies the brakes to the fastest wheel). This magic is driven by the (4) wheel speed sensors that go in the hubs. If one of them was totally out of the hub or disconnected, I'm sure the whole system would fault on startup (Three Amigos). What's scary to me is that it thinks the wheels are turning at different speeds. Perhaps the sensor is wiggling out of the hub? Maybe they are turning at different speeds. TC kicking on at 60, or any other speeds, it definitely going to be felt. As I posted above getting the system to fault and turn off does not take much.
Anybody else have thoughts as to what could be going on?

i would start by checkin all the abs sensor connections at the wheels then jack the truck up and check the hubs for excessive play to see if a hub is shot, check the ground connection on the modulator, i would do all the free things first. i wouldnt just disable the abs system.
