Default terrafirma hid fog lights

Look nice, decent price, hid with ballast and all hardware included... but that got me thinking, will those withstand a good fording or even rainy day? all that high voltage stuff exposed makes me nervous... anyone running these? hows the setup quality? brightness/beam shape?

They look like good quality lights.but the only thing I don't like it's they have external balasts. How much are theis? I kno a site u can get 2 35watt h.i.d lights for 129.99. If they are more expensive than theis

I have HID bulb upgrades in my headlight low beams and high beams and fog lights. From looking at the picture above. Those are the same China $35 setup you can find on eBay. Not saying the Terrafirma lights are not good. But just letting you all know those are the same ballasts that come from from HID extra.com and Xentec on eBay and else where. Mine have worked fine for 1.5 years now. However I have had to replace a ballasts in a low beam... My 2 cents.

I think when the ballast are internal...such as the Warn lights the price moves to the $500 range.

The only down side to that set is they are using the older thick style ballast which have long since been replaced with a slimmer, longer lasting ballast that also does fine outside the light housing.

These are more expensive but really worth it, I run 3 of these on my front bumper.

why are you so dead set on HID's? there are plenty of LED options in that same price range with no ballast needed. or what i did was hella 700ff's with 100 watt hella bulbs. i have 6 hella 700ff's on my roof rack and its more than enough to get thru the pine barrens in the middle of the night leading a pack of rovers.
