Default Terrafirma ProSport and ABS Sensor

Hello,

Have had a clunk in the front right- replaced the ball joint - didn't help much - now see the top bushing on my 2011 Terrafirm Pro Sport Long Travel Shock is gone. I guess I should probably replace them all? Maybe with https://www.roverparts.com/suspension/kits/TF225/

Any thoughts?

Also, when they did the ball joint it seems they damaged my front right ABS sensor - now getting an ABS light at start and occasionally the TC is locking up the truck til the system kicks the light on and disables it. Mechanic said the front right sensor isn't getting signal - found this https://www.roverparts.com/brakes/sensors/SSW500020/

Thanks!

TDC

It was never the ball joints and the shop probably didn't harm the ABS sensor during it's replacement. You have a misdiagnosed bad wheel hub. The clunking and the ABS sensor failure are both solved with the new hub. Are you mechanically inclined? If so, jack up the affected wheel, grab it at 12 and 6 o'clock, and rock. If you feel play, that's confirmation.

Thanks but I can see the lack of bushing at the top of the front right shock quite clearly. Perhaps it is also the hub though. Why would an issue with the hub cause the sensor to not respond?

The indexed wheel inside the hub is what the sensor reads. When the hubs go bad, this indexed wheel and the hub's housing - which is what the ABS sensor is bolted to - lose relationship with each other and fall out of alignment. Sometimes that inner wheel makes contact with the sensor itself and destroys it too.

Thanks! I'll check it out tomorrow. If so then I guess I'd need one of these https://www.roverparts.com/driveline...ngs/TAY100060/ plus my new shocks. Assuming I can replace just the right front hub and leave the rest alone? Thanks again!

No play in it, but for the small incremental cost I may as well replace the hub with the sensor instead of just the sensor.

So now I've found a better option for shipping to Canada but the hub is US$300 and the sensor is only US$50 so it's very tempting to just try the sensor since the shop is adamant that there is no play in the hub...thoughts?

For the shocks - the place I bought them from wants me to buy a replacement bushing - I didn't know this was possible in modern shocks - any experience with this? Any concerns? https://lucky8llc.com/products/front...-absorber-bush This is very tempting option!

Thanks again!

Did you check Lucky8 for the hub yet? They’re $100.
