Personally when I drive off road I constantly try to "map" where all my wheels are as I'm going through an obstacle and try to imagine suspension articulation and the shifting of weight on each axle/wheel etc...
I'd get seriously stuck in some areas if all I did was drive.

Many Land Rover off roaders try to find the most challenging path just to see if they can make it. I'm more of the type of off road driver who wants to get from point A to B with the least amount of stess and wear and tear on my vehicle as it's the only one I have and being a 2003 it still has real nice paint and body on it. If the path is too extreme I may just not take it or I'll try a different one.

Ummm, what kind of CDL kit did you order for your truck? The '03 does not have a locking center diff at all, so there's no way to convert it to work. Least, that's what I've been told.

Then I just have to fab a handle to engage it... I cant afford the shipping cost of a complete transfer case to St. Croix, So this is the next best thing.

This is what I mean by a trail I would personally avoid!

Looking at DAP's website, $180 for a under the bumper winch mount or $1000 for a new HD bumper like an ARB. Kind of a no brainer for those of us with smaller bank accounts. Think that's the way I'll go after I get my lift. I've already got the factory brush guard that I would like to keep once I clean it up and repaint it. The plastic like finish on the bar is peeling in a lot of little places so I want completely peel it off, prime the metal and repaint.

I put the dap-inc winch mount on the Series I I had and the Series II I have right now. I have been happy with the, and if you ever decide to sell/upgrade, it comes right off for your next rig and the vehicle looks almost stock. You will have to do some bumper cutting but its pretty easy. I also bought a winch with a wireless remote supplementing the normal remote. Keeps things safer and cleaner. Keep us posted on what you decide.
Enjoy your Rover,

You were told wrong.
You can add the front output housing and CDL parts to ANY disco 2 transfer box. It all depends on how big ya pocket is
