Throttle body heater - hose size?
Soo throttle body heater plate was leaking so I replaced it yesterday and felt good about the job but I guess a hose broke ot something and now it's leaking profusely! Anyone know the diameter hose I should pick up? Wanna replace both lines ASAP and thinking the hard line should be replaced with a flexible hose.
Happy New Year😭

Thanks, looking at Autozone cuz it's right down the street from me. Online their 1/4" fuel lines all say 'designed for low pressure fuel systems" is that gonna hold up to the heat & pressure in the coolant system?
Also, it's definitely the shorter hose, not the expansion tank to throttle body hardline. Any tips for getting that shorter hose out? Looks it goes into the manifold but super tight, can't even see where it ends!

The proper ID of the hose is 5/16".
In the LINK is the silicone heater hose I use, and it works spot on. Strong as hell and won't break down with coolant/heat.
Remember to use hose clamps that are made for silicone hose (100% smooth on the inside).
You want a hose that is rated for coolant and not fuel. I only had to learn that lesson once, and just another reason why silicone is the best choice.
Good Luck!

To install it's not always necessary to remove the AC Compressor bolts, but it helps. It's really simple enough to just remove the 4 bolts.
You can see it here, just start the vid @ 4:30

Wow, thank you this is exactly the info I need. Wish I were smarter and had these hoses ahead of time when I did the heater plate! Now I just have to look at my sad truck which now stinks of burning coolant until these parts arrive (I'm also gonna do the hard line from the tank to the heater plate).
