Throttle Body Heater Plate Kit

Dear forum

Has anyone installed the Throttle Body Heater Plate Kit and Gasket Throttle Body on a Disco 2?
I did a Search and there a few posts which unfortunately the photos have been taken down.
The steps would be nice and indicate if this is an easy DYI task or I should not attempt it and just go to a professional mechanic.

Thanks

easy diy. takes as much time removing the parts to get to it, as it does the actual job.
gotta get stuff out of the way then pull the upper and do he deed.
warmer climates have the option to do away with the whole set up with a simple bypass. connect hoses before they go into the plate

Can he just remove the throttle body from the upper manifold instead of taking the whole upper off or are the 4 bolts holding it on to hard to get to? He might be able to just take the intake tube off and get to the 3 little bolts holding the throttle body heater on without taking anything else off.

Don't forget you need to bleed the cooling system after also,.

full disclosure; I dunno. prolly. I've only ever done it with the upper off for some other reason. never just did the tbh by itself. only when it is convenient. southern US.

Four 8mm bolts secure the throttle body to the plenum so, in a word, yes, you can remove it without having to remove the entire plenum.

if you do remove the upper it makes it easier to run a file across the mounting surface to make sure it is flat and true

I thin I paid $25 at dealer for a new plate and gasket. Only needed gasket but the quickest fix was to get kit from local dealer.
-Pulled off the two hoses. Use some rags to catch coolant and keep the hose open ends elevated. Might need two new hose clamps.
-Unscrew the 3 screws holding on the square plate(maybe 4 screws would have been a better design?) without removing throttle body. I think I used a right angle screw driver?
-clean throttle body mating surface
-put on new gasket and plate
-reattach hoses
-bleed coolant with bleed screw

Thanks to everyone who replied

Think I found the page from the Rave Workshop manual - is this correct?

In the kit also included was a black 3" square gasket.... where does that go?

Sincerely

Al

Yes, That page in the rave will show you how to take off the throttle body. The Square gasket will go where the throttle body connects to the Upper manifold. Once you take the 4 bolts off and remove the throttle body you will see the old gasket.
The old gasket can be a stuck on there really good sometimes and you need to be sure and get all the old gasket off before installing the new one or you may have a Vacuum leak. I use a fine grit auto body sand paper to help remove stuck on gasket material. You can also try a plastic scraper but don't use a screw driver or anything hard or you can damage the surface.

Throttle body heater plate

Hey guys

I need to confess - I'm struggling with this a little bit maybe because I don't know what the part I'm replacing does!

Would you be nice enough to tell me what does the Throttle body heater plate do?

Thank you
