Default Time for a new engine...

I think I'm done playing around with my engine. UNCLE!!!

The truck is in excellent condition inside and out.

I'm pretty sure I'll pull the trigger on a new long block. Atlantic British, Cannibal V8, or Turner? All seem pretty reputable.

For those with experience with any of the above, please chime in.

Thx

They do not unless you send them your heads. I would get everything but the heads from Turner it's easy to do head gaskets on a engine stand.

$600? Seems like a steal.

Had some slight ticking rear its head at the end of last week after 2 months of quiet bliss - thus this post. After the second can swap (pretty sure I smurffed up the first), new valve train, cooling sys, new main and rod bearings, and a bunch of other stuff, I wasn't going to put up with an annoying tick. I'd rather buy a new motor before tearing deep into this one again.

Until Saturday morning...

I already had all the parts for the in line t-stat sitting in the garage, so what the hell... Temps have been in the 181 to 190 range, she'll idle at 183 for 10 mins, no problem getting up to temp in the morning, runs smooth, and best of all, no tick. I know it's probably just a matter of time before the ticking comes back, but I wasn't too keen on spending $5-6k on the truck around the holidays.

Get the Turner, and spring for the sport cams. You won't regret it.

That's what I'm leaning towards.
