Default Timing Belt Broken

I found a 96disco for sale for $1000 but they say the timing chain broke. How much damage could that cause and how much to fix. I already have a 96 disco and would love another but only if it can be fixed reasonably. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Bill

I don't think these are interferrence engines, but I am not sure. Could just get a new chain and gears and go. Again, I am not sure.

Heck, if it's in good shape otherwise for 1k that makes a pretty good parts car. And if you open it up and no major damage is done other than the chain and possibly gears, even better.

If it broke at high speed, it could have bent some valves.
