Default Timing Chain and Water Pump

Any possibility that the timing chain be damaged when water pump is replaced? Thanks

No, just bolting on a new water pump has nothing to do with the timing chain, gears, oil pump gears. Just curious, what makes you think it would?

Are we discussing the "no compression" Discovery? I thought it ran after the first mechanic made the repairs on the water pump. Granted, anything is possible, but no...there should be no way he damaged the timing chain...unless he did something mighty unusual or stupid.

Im just having a series of unfotunate events. 1st water pump replaced by a friend
Mechanic in his shop, then car wont start with signs that it got immobilized. Got towed home. Towed to another shop then said, no compression in all cylinders. Got towed again to another shop. This time they told me timing chain.
